Our story is really quite simple. Beginning in the
summer of 1995, while working and going to school in Washington, D.C.,
Stanton Maines, Kyle Oyama, and Christina Slinger recognized a business
opportunity. Each had recently started their collegiate career at their
respective university, and saw room for improvement. Having gone through the
time consuming and tedious process of tracking down and buying all the
necessary college supplies to begin their college life, they knew that there
must be a better way. They saw the need for a convenient and inexpensive way
to order all the relevant college supplies before even leaving home, to save
much needed time during the first chaotic weeks of college. This early
vision of TotalCampus.com (TC) as a single source for college students
remains mostly unchanged.
